Some days I want just want to weep. I want to weep out of the gratefulness of my heart to the Living God. Some days I want to weep because of the pain I feel for myself and for others. But all in all I know that God is listening. His Word says that He captures every tear in a bottle. Tears are cleansing, when we cry we release toxins. Tears are full of toxins. In essence we are cleansing our bodies and souls when we weep.
Many people think of weeping as a sign of weakness. It is not. In fact, it is more detrimental to keep all of your feelings stifled and pushed down than it is to release them. Keeping your feelings all bottled up inside can cause stress and may be even be linked to disease.
The night season often seems long. Daytime seems as if it takes forever to come. It also seems that joy takes a long time to come when you are weeping. But I promise you this, the pain will pass. If you ever feel like crying out to God and weeping, then do so. He is there. He is listening. He cares. And, He is capturing all your tears in a bottle and I think that He pays you back double for every tear you’ve shed if you are open and willing to trust Him and all that He has to offer. Joy will come and so will daytime.
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. -Ps. 56:8
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. -Psalms 30:5
